"Any ideas"

Maybe, Chas.....

...had the same problem with a "powerbrush"
attachment on my vacuum cleaner. This particular attachment (motor) hadn't been
used in a while....didn't wanna turn. Kept
"absorbing" power & blowing it's resettable breaker button.

Took some Marvel Mystery oil and lubricated all shafts and turned the power
brush in such fashion that the oil
penetrated "down" those shafts towards
the enclosed motor. Then, turned each shaft by it's external wheel to "free up"
mechanism.

Did this a couple of times over 30 minutes
or so. All freed up. Motor now runs normally.
