Damn! Wish I could make it. I did see maynard back aroung '92 or '93
when he played at RPI. Amazing show. I think this was also with Big Bob
Nouveau, but I can't say for certain. But he did open and close the show
with a tune called "Blue Birdland", which I has played when I was in my
high school jazz band (baritone sax), so I thought that was really cool!

Today, at 77 years of age, Maynard's still touring, with his band Big
Bop
Nouveau. I saw him last Oct., and after 30+ years off the horn, I once
again
found my inspiration to pick up a trumpet and start playing again.

The concert is May 7th, a Sunday night, 7:30 PM. Tickets are $15.
Additionally; Nancy and I will be hosting a Thicko party at the Dream
Farm
for Maynard & the band. That will either take place Sat. the 6th, or
Sunday
afternoon.
