Hello Linda,

       i read about this .. they are using the high frequency 18,000
       to 20,000 hz tone as a ringtone for their cell phones in
       classrooms! the teacher can't hear it, but EVERYONE else in the
       classroom can! .. i could hear it, but not LOUDLY.. really had
       to concentrate.. but my daughter and son had NO problem... has
       to do with age onset hearing loss of high frequencies...
