OK, I must be doing something wrong. Here's my latest attempt:
I have a harmonic balancer puller - the type that's got the slots for
bolts that would thread into a pulley or steering wheel. None of the
holes go anywhere beyond the rubber, so I used a couple of big clamps to
secure the puller to the wheel, and then screwed in the center bolt.
The wheel began to bend, so I figured this was the time to smack the
center bolt with a hammer.
Which I did.
Repeatedly.
With a 3 lb sledgehammer.
Nothing moved.
I'm almost ready to try heat, but I'm wary of heating up the rubber too
much in the process.
I have a 2 jaw puller, but it's useless as the center of the space
between the spokes is lower than the center of the wheel. Not sure a
3-jaw would be any better.
Or do I break down and ger the new "special" puller from Mo$$?
Or just more beer, cursing and swearing? :)

The first thing you will want to do is setup the movie camera to film
