Hello from a digest lurker:
I had to come out of lurk mode because I need help!
'74 Midget 1275, running good but sometimes stumbles as I touch the gas.
Started checking the carbs to-day after reading all the discussion on
mixture setting and colortune. But as I am trying to "reset" after each
adjustment, I notice the piston in the front carb is not lifting when I
goose the throttle - only the back one lifts (and both should lift?). Took
em apart, cleaned em a bit. No difference, nothing obvious holding it up
(down?). There is oil in both dashpots.
So, finally, here is the question: is there anything I can check to see that
the front carb is getting the right "signal" to lift the piston? I think I'm
looking for vacuum....
I do have a spare set of carbs so I could swap out the daspots and see if I
can match them if there is nothing else to be done.
TIA
Alan
