I got "Franked" this weekend on a purchase from Home Despite...

My folks are 87 & 89, and needed another staircase railing in the stairway
to their 2nd floor.

I bought some extra long brass screws at Home Defect, as their walls are
plaster, and I wanted to make sure the screws were sunk well into the studs
behind the wall.

The screws would twist off as soon as they hit the resistance of the stud,
despite having the proper sized pilot hole and threads lubed with soap.
