Or a "C" clamp. I assumed he had the correct size or they wouldn't
fit on the rack ends. Aren't there only old, big, original, and new,
smaller, Triumph racks? From the question, I thought the length of
the threaded part was just longer.
Birmingham is pretty far, but sounds quite British.
