I cut the rear hose, and was able to loosen the hose's hold down nut 
enough that I could hold the flare nut stationary while turning the hose 
portion with a second wrench. So now it's apart and the brake line is 
still intact, but I still haven't been able to free the flare nut from 
the line, it's seized up pretty solid.. Unless I can get the flare nut 
to turn independently of the brake line, I might have just won the 
battle but lost the war...

Short of replacing the brake line, maybe I could re-assemble it the same 
way. To attach the other end of the hose would require undoing the two 
brake lines from the splitter and removing the splitter from the axle so 
it can be threaded on the hose... Talk about doing stuff the hard way...
