NOT so, Jim!! As I said to Paul earlier, most hardware store stuff is
actually Grade 2.
Now, I DO admit that SS hardware IS available in Grade 5 (MINIMUM for
automotive use) but it might as well be platinum plated as it IS "pricey"!!
There a LOT less "critical" fasteners on a bike than there are on an
automobile!!
Several years ago actually had a customer that PAID to have EVERY fastener on
his MGB in Gradr 5 SS!!! Almost 30% more in $s than he needed to spend (but
my banker didn't care<VBG>!!!!!).
