Jim,
The 3/8 hose I have has 1/4NPT fittings on the end.  Rubber hose is much
more user friendly than lightweight flexible plastic.  Easy to add quick
release fittings.  Be aware that there are at least 2 types of QR and they
don't mix.  By good quality fittings as the junk that is made you-know-where
will last about long enough for you to drop it in the garbage can!
