Guys and Gals,

I dropped the pan on the Midget today to inspect those rod bearings. There
was a small amount of that shiny non-magnetic debris in the bottom. Small
amount might be like a small bullet, but so far I was relieved there were no
nuts and bolts or big chunks of stuff that would ruin my day.

Here`s another question maybe someone can answer:

At the front and rear where the "U" sump seals meet the crank ends, I can
see more cork seal that apparently mated the contour of those on the sump.I
believe these may be part of the U sump seals that remained behind, tore away
clean from the lower part. The pan has never been removed and was pretty
tight.

I do see the parts manual shows only one seal (main bearing cap seal) at
the front and rear that fit into the groves in the pan to mate with the crank.
But before I try to get those other cork pieces out, I`d better ask. Cheers,

Bert Shirey
