[Spridgets] brake lines

Why do bugeyes with electronic fuel pumps have an interrupted section  
of brake line that turns from metal to rubber and then back to metal  
again?Is this to prevent arcing from the fuel pump to the metal brake  
line? Does anyone sell ready made FUEL LINE kits complete with  
connectors for a 1959 bugeye?
