With the pounding Grattan gave many cars, I bought the
3-part dye-pen crack check kit from Pegasus, around
$30. No replacement for a machine shop, but seems to
be pretty good. Only got to one front spindle tonight
(no cracks) but it's easy, and real obvious when
showing cracks - I tested it on a known bad
crankshaft. Use in good ventilation, otherwise it's
my favorite new tool....
