Jim,

I think you'll find that a '66 and earlier 289 Mustang had the same
outlet as the Tiger (side-wize). Mine did. In '67 they changed sides
from "Right Wing" to "Left Wing". McCarthy is still investigating.

You can always get the early timing chain cover (260 & 289 HiPo, for
aluminum; 289 for iron) right sided inlet.

Let me know if FoMoCo has different info.

BTW: Just bough the August Issue of "Mustang & Fast Fords". Lots of info
on heads, block set-up, etc. if you're seriously interested in leaving
your tires on the asphalt.
