FELLOW ALPINE & TIGER OWNERS,

RECENTLY LUCAS PURCHASED THE RIGHTS TO MARKET CASTROL BRAKE FLUIDS. LUCAS
NOW MARKETS FOUR DIFFERENT BRAKE FLUIDS AND SOME CONFUSION AS TO WHAT SHOULD
BE USED IN OUT ALPINES AND TIGERS HAS SURFACED.

AFTER CONSULTING THE LUCAS TECH PEOPLE, I CAN REPORT THE FOLLOWING:
THE DIRECT REPLACEMENT TO OUR OLD CASTROL GT (LMA BRAKE FLUID) IS THE
LUCAS/GIRLING UNIVERSAL BRAKE FLUID, PART # PBF 425 ( 5 LITERS) OR PFB450 (10
LITERS).
LUCAS ALSO HAS A DOT 5.1 FLUID THAT MIXES SAFELY WITH THE DOT 4 ABOVE. THE
PART NUMBERS FOR THESE ARE PBF525 (5 LITERS) AND PFB550 (10 LITERS).

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ALPINE AND TIGER OWNERS USE LUCAS MINERAL
OIL-LHM OR LUCAS PREMUIM MINERAL OIL, PART NUMBERS PFM201 AND PFM701. THESE
FLUIDS WILL SOFTEN ALL SEALS AND MAY CAUSE BRAKE AND CLUTCH FAILURE.

BEST REGARDS,
CURT
CLASSIC SUNBEAM
