Tim your advise is good and really relates that it takes time to do it
right.  Surface prep is the name of the game.

Tom, I forgot to mention, with POR-15 you have to paint it when still
tacky, or with their top coat, if you want to paint it other than gloss
or semi gloss black.  You can take a hammer to it, bend it, etc., and I
used it on the springs, axle, suspension.
