Thanks Steve for the detailed answer.

To clarify,
The transmission can be shoved far enough rearward that the bell housing can
be slipped between the pressure plate and the input shaft of the tranny.

Or do you reach inside the bell housing and undo the clutch as well? ( I
sure hope not)
