My comments on the jacking points were based on some listers' past
stories about trying to use those to jack up the car, and it probably
only applies to Tigers or 'Pines that have spent some time in wet or
winter conditions. I've never actually had the opportunity or need to
jack my Tiger up using the stock jack, and I carry a scissors jack in
the trunk.

As to the Lucas electrics, I might be remiss in making that comment too.
I'm sure that they were never expected to still be functional and
trouble free 40 years down the road, and that they functioned fully to
the designers' intent until at least 30 minutes after the battery was
installed.

Hmmm, curious as to why you would say that. I have used mine for jacking
the
car a zillion times with no trouble what so ever. I used to throw the 4
autocros tires into the car (2 behind seats, 2 in trunk) take the car to
the
autocross, change the tires, compete, replace them them be on my way.
Never
a problem Was/is there something to worry about?
