I agree the original Alpine design looks like a toned down later 50's
Packard that was tweaked off the Studebaker Champion/Hawk series.

So, when I look, I see:
The original is design similar to a late 50's Packard.
The first version similar to a 57 T-Bird front and a 57 Plymouth rear (not
so much the trunk, but the fins and lights).
The second version similar to a 57 T-Bird and a later 50's Rambler American
rear.
I won't comment on the Mark II's. They are rare, better equipped, but to me
the least appealing of the Tigers.
I don't mean to sound insulting, I wouldn't have a Tiger if I didn't like it
(and I do). It's just that I see other cars when I see the Tiger/Alpine.
It's like my kids, I love then even though I may see my In-Laws in them at
times. :-)
