You don't need expensive Thule stuff to make a hardtop hoist. Just watch the local yard sales or Craig's list for any old gutter clamp ski racks or roof carrier racks that appear strong enough. I still have my old ski racks from the late '70's that I last used for some winter photos with the Tiger, so if some day I come across an electric winch...
