| I think coil over shocks in addition to leaf springs goes into the territory of 
â??helper springsâ??. Usually for carrying a heavier load. Adjustable coil over 
shocks (where you can raise the ride height) will pre-load the leaf springs 
and, in my opinion, result in a harsh ride and possibly some irrational 
behavior of the rear end. Fitment may also be an issue. Extended shackles may 
be your answer. 2 inches is quite a bit and Iâ??m not a fan of longer shackles 
but it will raise the body. Maybe someone has had more experience with coil 
overs than I have. I use QA1 coil overs on my street rod with a 4 link set up.
