Dan A pickle fork will work well for removing balljoints that's what it was made for how ever I've removed alot of balljoints from GT6 Spits etc. and never used a pickle fork. Being your replacing the joint, ball joint that is, I unthread the nut to almost the end then smack it a few time they normally pop right off. Just my 21/2 cents worth.
