I don't believe that's true. I had an O/D tranny put back in my 6 (the
original one having disappeared somewhere along the line) and kept
the same speedo with the same in/accuracy I had before. The only
thing different (to my knowledge) was that there's an angled adapter
on the tranny for the speedo cable.
