Department of Corrections E-Mail system.
Intelligence information was recently received in the security threat
Intelligence networking unit of a phone scam that could effect you at
Work and at home.
If you get a message on your voice mail, answering machine, or pager
Asking you to return an "urgent" call to a "toll free" number starting
With area code 809, do not call it !!!!!
Someone one has set up a bank of numbers in the 809 area code
(carribbean islands, outside us law) and created a pass-through to 900
Numbers in new york. They are connected to an automatic voice message
System that dials thousands of numbers around the u.s. leaving an
"urgent" message to call back.
When you call back, the call forwards to a 900 number and you get a
Message saying to call back later. What you don't realize is that the
30 second call just cost you $25 to $50 in 900 charges.
Please share this information with your co-workers, family, and friends
So they want be fooled.
