Fellow Spitfire owners.... Take a look at "The Beast's" web page. I found it last night (quite by chance.) The Beast is a 1964 Spit with a 350 cu.in. Chevy V-8, Corvette suspension on special frame, etc. etc. Not for the purist, but still a fun project. Has some interesting links on the page, also.
