Ah, did I have a good day today. It reached a high of about 14 degrees F.
It was very cold, and pretty windy, and absolutely no fun. That is, until I
woke my Spitfire from her winter sleep and I dragged her from her comfy
little barn out behind my parent's house. She took about 2 minutes of
turning over (4 repetitions of the well known crank for 30 secs, rest for 30
secs) to even begin to come to life, and I had to let her warm for about 15
minutes until she stopped sounding terribly unhappy.

But once she was warmed up, she seemed happy as ever to tear down the
street with me inside, blue knuckled and with huge grin almost freezing in
place. I was enjoying the drive so much it didn't much matter that my
fingers and toes were going numb from the cold. Boy do I forget during the
winter how much fun she is. Of course I remember how I like the car, but
there's a certain feeling that you can only feel as the trees fly by, the
engine is purring, and the smell hot motor oil is in the air. Ah, but she
is pleasant.

Anyway, Monday we go (top down of course, screw the weather) to see the
mechanic to try and get her fixed up enough to become my daily driver.
Alas, I swore once never again to go to a mechanic with her, but such are
the realities of life.
