Friends:

When I bought my Spitfire 3 years ago, there was a manual in the boot- but
it was missing the first & last few pages- including the cover, and any
other information about which manual it is. I'm curious which it is. I
know that it's not a Haynes, (I bought one), and by the introduction, it
sounds like it's not an official shop manual (see below).

I'm just curious, because the condition of the pages and some advice
("always use genuine British Leyland parts") make me think it's from the
early years of the car. Also, the terms (petrol, tyre) make me beleive it
might be of British heritage. If there is anyone who would be kind enough
to help me identify it...

My first page is page 5, which is the table of contents, but the reverse
(page 6) has a seemingly unique introduction. It starts:
"This is a manual for enthusiastic Spitfire owners. It shows
how to maintain these cars in first class condition and... "
(I don't want to type out much more to save bandwidth)

Page 7 is a listing of Routine Maintenance, and it is pretty much complete
from there up to the first page of the index, (pg 222) but that's the last
page I have. I figure I'm missing a total of ten pages. Really, I would
love to have photocopies of the few missing pages, but that's my next
request after I find out which it is and who owns one like it.

I hope that someone may be able to help me on this mission. Thanks in advance!

"Procrastinate" is the first entry of my "To Do" List.
I like it, because this way, I'm always working hard.
