Dear John:

(Wasn't that the name of a 50" tune? Dear john , oh how I hate to
write.......)

Anyway. I'd sure clean things out as best you can before you think rod
bearings. The 4cyl TR engine tends to make some racket on start up and it is
usually the valves. IF the pressure is low after it comes up at cold start,
say 40 -50 lb
you might have a rod problem. Drop the pan and get out the plastigauge.

My 59 clatter's like H___ when I start it up, has for the past 10 years, but
the oil pressure comes up and stays up. I'm not afraid to drive the car
anywhere. I'm driving to Santa Fe in the morning.

How was it that the car was stored so long. Inquiring minds want to know !!
Good Luck and let us know how it works out.
