Barry and everyone:
Here's some of the answers to the British sites/PBS question of last week.
With thanks to my colleagues and other PBS staffers.

1. Brideshead Revisited estate Castle Howard in Yorkshire and is open to
visitors.

2. Duchess of Duke Street hotel
The Cavendish Hotel in Jermyn Street is the hotel that the series is based
on. It's not where it was filmed, because the original hotel was levelled
years ago--but they still have a little tribute to the real "Louisa"
(forgotten the woman's name); it's a little montage of pictures and menus...

3. Sherlock Holmes sites (is it actually Baker St?) There really is a 221B
Baker Street, and you can often find some London walking tours that visits
Holmes locations. Great fun. There's a company there now -- insurance, I
think -- and they have a staffer who answers mail sent to Holmes at that
address.

4. Upstairs/Downstairs site Eaton Place (London) does exist, but there's no
165.. Plenty of grand old houses in the neighborhood.

Hope this helps. Bon voyage!
