Thanks, Art! (Probably the only non-FLAME message you'll get regarding 
grammar and usage on this list, huh?)

My junior high school English teacher, ex-nun, ex-cop-car-driving Miss 
Gehle, simply would not put up with such usage. I laughed at lot at her 
back then; now, I'm grateful for what she taught me. I'm not always 
perfect, but....
