Use JPEG, they are the most compressed out of all the types. I think you can go as low as 20Kbytes for a 320x240 JPG (1/4 of VGA screen)... and about 50-60K for a 'big' picture GIF is the most portable, and the least compressible... TIFF is larger but can be compressed (can't be viewed while compressed)...JPEG comes pre-compressed but you 'lose' quality (not much actually, it just looks grainier; but we are looking for quantity here!) |
