For those of your faxing BMIHT for a Heritage Certificate or whatever, I
think its worth 'taking a leaf' out of one of the recent comments on the
Spridgets list. One of these guys was having major problems with UK phone
numbers. He's not the only one! The regional code for BMIHT is 01926
followed by a six digit number. When faxing (or phoning) from outside the
UK omit the leading zero - we use it ONLY within the UK to signify long
distance. You dial your own international access code (whatever that may
be) followed by 44 for the UK, then 1926 and then the number. With all that
lot, you ought to hear the familiar warble to push the transmit button.
