Autocross tires

I'm looking at using my 1978 Spitfire to run some road course auto cross
events.
Currently I have the stock rims (13"x4.5"  I think ??) with rather used
155/80/13 tires...

Any recomdations as to a decent tire/size to use ?

What might be the widest tire I can fit to the rim, and not have
clearance problems ?
