I wrote the article about trailering TR's on the VTR website. I am afraid
the info is getting a bit dated.
I have moved another TR3 about a year ago using the U-Haul Auto
Transporter. The frame rails on the trailer were closer that they used to
be. The TR3 fit OK. I have also received a few emails from people
commenting on my article who reported the same thing as I experienced. The
U-Haul trailers are smaller now.
I am sure your TR6 will fit fine. But, if you are worried about parts
falling off your car the Ryder is still your best bet because MOST Ryder
trailers have a full bed. Not all of them do now.
Depending on your exhaust system, you might want to get a little creative
on setting up the ramps. If you park the tow rig on an incline, you can
lessen the angle the TR will see and minimize the chances of scraping.
