Last night I just came off the freeway and... bamm, kathund, kathund, kathund,
etc. . It is definitely in the rear end. It is not the driveshaft ( I already
had one of those go out on me and know what all that's about). When I got home
I jacked up one side and turned the wheel. It moves freely and then binds up
real tight goes "kathund" and moves freely and again, kathund... . "Ok, maybe
it's just the u-joint I need to replace", I think, but wait I should probably
check the other side and guess what.... it does the same thing. Now I'm
thinking it's the differential, but what's inside to cause it to bind up like
this. Something did break loose, it scared the piss outta me. The car is
still driveable and I have power to both wheels. Any ideas are, as always
appreciated.

The car is now parked awaiting repair.
