Does the oil smell like gas?  If so your running to rich and having
gasoline forced into the crank case.  This may be loosening any deposits
up and suspending them in the oil.  I don't know how hard it is to drop
the oil pan, but that's what I'd do first.  Using a engine flush could
make the problem worse by loosening up the crudd and sucking it into the
oil pump.  Causing premature pump failure or worse.  I'd still drop the
pan and clean it out  along with the entire crank case.  Use a parts
cleaning brush and a good brake and parts cleaner to scrub the inside of
the crank case.  You can also take advantage while the pan is off and
check the rod bearings for wear if your concerned the engine is on it's
last leg.
