Matching numbers always means that the car has all the original parts that were
serialized. This can include rear axle, transmission, frame, engine and body.
Anything else may be restored to original condition, but is not "matching
numbers".

I've been listening to people about this for 20 years. The people who claim
otherwise are just trying to boost the value of their cars by changing the
definition.
