<< Hi Dave,
I'm currently fitting fenders and panels on my 60 TR3A (comm #TS81398L).
I plan to POR-15 some lacy areas in the trunk floor and finish welding some
closure panels in the bottom rear. After that I'll probably hang and fit all
the fenders (knocking some tin where necessary) then do the finish body
work.
I'll then remove everything; prime and paint the bare shell and all loose
 pieces separately, then reassemble.
 Good luck

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but you might consider this. If you
paint the fenders, doors, etc you will be handling them a lot in the fitting
process. You just might consider painting the underneath, then mount on frame
and paint the entire tub without fenders, including the engine compartment,
boot, door jambs, back side of fenders, under bonnet, etc. Then fit
everything and get it lined up. Finally, paint the car as a unit, leaving
fenders just loose enough for stainless strips. Anyway, just a thought.
