Sounds lean.  Check the dashpot for oil.  My TR8 runs like crap without
dashpot oil.  (Well not like crap.  A TR8 NEVER runs like crap.  Let's just
say it is reluctant under load.)  also check the choke connections.  If it
runs OK when warm it is likely those two.
