My engine no in the TR6 is CC28006HE. It was built 26 Feb. 69 so its in
range to be a 69 TR6 engine.

Recently I acquired a GT6+ car in non-running condition (parts car!).
Checking the engine serial number, it came up as CC31122HE. Checking my
records and http://spitfire.amicale.com/serial.htm , I could not find
anything that resembled it. I checked another triumph GT6+, and the serial
was something like KD5xxxxxE, which matches what was to be expected.
I scrubbed away with my wire brush, and it is MOST DEFINITELY CC31122HE
(As clear as the day when it was first stamped). Did Triumph sell
replacement engines with different serial numbers, or is it from a
different car? It looks exactly like a GT6 engine to me.
