Cosmo,

My feeling is that if you paraphrase and if you don't identify your source
you can't go wrong.  This is not trade secret information.  Paraphrasing
gets around any possible copyright issues (although I have yet to receive a
post with a copyright warning).  I guess hard feelings will arouse if you
post someone's response, complete with accreditation, and this person gets
flamed due to some technical error.  

I, for one, likes to see not just the responses but the resolution as well.
 We learn from not just postulating about the cause but finding out the
real cause.  I generally (almost always) post my responses to the whole
list just for this reason.

Doing a digested version of the problem, the various responses and the
eventual resolution is a lot of work and we have a tendency of proceedign
on to the next issue once a problem is solved and not compiling the above
information into a nice, neat chestnut.  You are one of the few that do.
