I found the source of my grease leak on the front wheel discussed the other day. There was actually a cut in the outer grease retaining cap, and that's where bearing grease was escaping. The cut was just the size of a screwdriver blade, that some DPO pressed it down with. I've done some dumb things, but this wasn't one of mine! The repacking job, with new grease seals and a new cap, will be done before British Invasion in Stowe VT -- it's a long ride. Thanks again, listers, for all the help. Sumner Weisman 62 TR3B TSF263L |
