Pat, seems to be quite a history of TR rear brake shoes...Piggott's 
book has this to say:
        "TS5348 Mar 1955, Rear brakes increased in diameter from 9" to 10"
        brake shoe width increased from 1.75" to 2.25"

        "TS56377 Jun 1959, Rear brakes Reduced in size form 10" x 2.25" to
        9" x 1.75"

This is what I can glean from his book, I am certain that if I am 
mistaken more knowledgeable list members will let you/me know...:-)
