Bill,

How old is the flex line.  If it is not fairly new you may have a pending
line failure. The rubber lining inside may be swelling, flaking and acting
as a check valve with the relatively low pressures encountered with the
mighty vac but the higher pressures with the air gun are able to overcome
the obstructions.  So, check the flex line.
