True about not grounding military jets- however, most military flying
activity in the past 24 has been far from where I am- save for the large tac
helo that went over last night around midnight, and the 2 or 3 jets(1 large,
one pair fighters) that have flown over this morning. One large one,
presumably heading towards McGuire throttled back when very close overhead,
and scared the living hell out of me with the sound.(I was half asleep-
which I think is about all asleep as anyone got last night)
I have been thankful for the knowledge that all civilian transport was
grounded- I think knowing it was only the military there was reassuring
there would be nothing dropping on us.
As to the F-16 rumor, I have no doubt that was true- I do know the area
around the capitol is a restricted flight area for security reasons, and has
been so for many decades.
