Oil pressure is like glucose- you need a certain amount but too much is not
good for you. What are you trying to accomplish?

The oil pump in a TR6 is a positive displacement gear pump and it is more
than adequate to meet the lubrication requirements of an engine that is in
good condition. Low oil pressure is a _symptom_ of an engine with worn
crankshaft bearings, a worn rocker shaft, and/or a camshaft that's loose in
it's bore. If you attempt to boost the oil pressure by cranking up the pump
or tweaking the bypass spring you will still have a worn out engine but
you'll be masking the symptoms and you'll be using extra horsepower to pump
all that extra oil around.

The competition preparation books for the TR6 and GT6 say "the (stock) oil
pump is of sufficient volume for racing". They do recommend a baffled oil
pan to prevent starving the pump on hard cornering. Many racers have oil
coolers fitted and swear by them.
