What would have been the original (top) surface of that board that
covers the spare tire well?
Mine looks pretty original except for a coat of unnaturally flat black
paint on the top surface. I detect some staple holes along 2 edges and
perhaps the remains of adhesive now covered by black paint. There is a
photo in Piggott but all I see is that it is black.
