Well ain't that a PITA?
I'm getting into taking apart these differentials. . trying to see if I can
take a ring and pinion out of a 6 and put it in a 4 axle . . .
and now I see that when the teeth broke off, it must have damaged the sun and
planet gears. They've got a couple of tight spots on them.
They also don't seem to be interchangeable / transplantable from the 6 to the
4.
And of course those gears aren't available.
at least not from looking at the moss catalog)
Back to the drawing board.
Oh and yes. . . the ring mounting bolts had both the lock washers AND some sort
of thread locking goo on them.
