>After 15 years of "click, bang!!" I have finally purchased the replacement
door check straps for my 72 TR6. Of course, being the genius that I am, I
forgot to order all the parts. I ordered and received the check straps and
the funny clips that they slip through. However I didn't get those strange
fasteners (rivets?) that hold the clips onto the door hinge posts.
Can I just use small bolts to hold down the clips, or does it have to be
done with those special fasteners?

I certainly hope so, I've been using a bolt for years.
