I have the same Carbs on my TR6 and I had the same exact problem. I
found a
great site for adjusting the Carbs at www.racetep.com/weberadj.html. I
still have a little sorting out to do but I am making good progress. Here is
what I have done so far.
1. Adjsust the float levels correctly.
2. Add a fuel regulator to keep the fuel pump from overriding the floats.
I got mine from Napa for around 25$ maybe a little less.
3. Set the timing correctly. I used the static method.
4. Adjust the Carbs following the instructions at
www.racetep.com/weberadj.html

Subject: Weber Down Drafts on a TR6
Hey folks.
Im looking for someone with some experience with weber downdraft carbs on a
TR6.
I changed the car over to the CORRECT intake manifold this weekend.
It had the early intake manifold on a later head. (love those DPOs!)
It already runs much better. (no surprise)
But it is running rich as heck.
It ran through a tank of gas in no time at all.
So much so that I was checking for leaking fuel lines.
Bystanders tell me they can smell it in the exhaust.
So . . .anyone have any helpful hints for me?
Perhaps what combination of jets / emulsion tubes I should have on there?
